about

One of our most loved and consistent artist Tom “Shur-I-Kan” Szirtes is back once again on Lazy Days. This time with the great Beats. Strings & Life EP. The title track is a classic SIK affair, with lovely piano and strings arrangement. While sounding effortless, a lot of love went into it with collaborators suhc as Pete Whitfield on Strings, Nick Cohen on Bass Guitar and Danny Ward (aka Dubble D, Moodymanc…) on percussions. I just played it in my 2 sets at Piknic Electronik last weekend and I can attest it definitely gets large crowd moving! Also included is the lovely Reprise version.

Next is Bubblin’ Up which sees Tom exploring his darker/trackier side. A bouncy hypnotic number for the late hours. To round up the EP, he takes us in the Bruk territory with Shut This Down featuring vocals by Anna Stubbs from the UK band Brotherly. This one is dedicated to the memory of the late great Phil Asher.

"Life-affirming house music right here! You can always rely on Tom to bring that musicality to transform a functional club track into something that connects on a higher level. And with the extra musicians adding their touch, the end result is a release which will stand the test of time." -Jimpster (Freerange) "Ohhhh whaouuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Brilliant EP" - Laurent Garnier
